The Luces Family at Mercy’s Gate in Colorado Springs.
This is Carolyn, a volunteer at Mercy’s Gate, meeting with Rodney. The volunteers at Mercy’s Gate have such loving hearts.
This is Cassandra. She came to Mercy’s Gate for help. Look at those eyes….
This is Julie Wilson, the Director of Mercy’s Gate. She oversees the work of the staff and volunteers and, frankly, does a wonderful job. Mercy’s Gate main location is located within Rocky Mountain Calvary Church, which is near the intersection of Austin Bluffs and Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs. You can reach Mercy’s Gate at 719.277.7470, and it’s website is located at http://www.mercysgatecs.org/. Mercy’s Gate provides the following services:
Food Pantry. Mercy’s Gate provides families with a four day emergency supply of food up to three times each year.
USDA Commodities Program. In partnership with The Emergency Food Asistance Program, Mercy’s Gate helps supplement the diets of low income families by providing a monthly food package.
Financial Assistance. Financial help is provided through rental, utility, prescription assistance, medical co-pays, and transportation.
Faith Community Nurse. A registered nurse is available to assess health care needs, provide prescription assistance, and to link our clients with community resources.

This is William, who has been going through a rough time. He came to Mercy’s Gate for help.

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? – James 2:15-16.
This is Tehara. She is going through a rough time and needs helping with her rent payment. She came to Mercy’s Gate in Colorado Springs, and she received rent assistance and groceries from the food pantry. A volunteer prayed with Tehara and shared the Gospel with her. I am impressed how effectively Mercy’s Gate meets the real needs of people going through crisis.
Mercy’s Gate provides rent assistance to people who are unable to make rent. The ministry has limited funds, and it is unable to meet the needs of all the people who needs a helping hand. Here, a volunteer at Mercy’s Gate is praying with a client who receives rent assistance. Mercy’s Gate is careful to minister to people’s physical and spiritual needs.
I have just started a new project for Mercy’s Gate in Colorado Springs. This is the Julie Wilson, the Director of Mercy’s Gate, and I will be helping the ministry with its photography needs in the next few weeks. More to come…
The Thorn production is without doubt the best Christian production I’ve ever seen. It is professionally produced, and the story is so compelling. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
The Thorn has moved from New Life Church to The World Arena in Colorado Springs, and tickets are available tonight and for tomorrow. The Thorn will also be showing at Magness Arena in Denver on April 6-7, 2012 and at the Tri-Lakes Center in Branson, Missouri on June 2-16, 2012. The Thorn website is http://thethorn.net/.
Inviting friends to go see The Thorn is a great way to share your faith in Jesus. Twice when I’ve seen The Thorn, I was deeply moved to make new commitments for Jesus.
