This is “fast food” in the Village of Fond Blanc, Haiti. These ladies start a small fire and set up their restaurant along the main walkway in the village and sell to those walking by. I felt like I was a million miles away from my home in Colorado Springs.
The Oaxacan ladies frying fish on a fire for our short-term mission team. They caught the fish earlier that day for our team, and they treated us to a fantastic meal as we sang by the large campfire. I still miss those tacos!
One of the best things about mission trips to Baja is the food. This is El Plabano’s in Ensenada, Mexico, which has the best carne asada tacos on the planet. Stopping at this road-side diner is always a highlight of our trips to Baja.
In Baja, many people have a very limited diet, and they oftentimes develop blotchy skin because of a lack of minerals.
